Dr. Bedi has started practicing as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in New Delhi, after returning from the UK where he had been practicing for over 11years. While in UK he gained extensive experience in all aspects of Orthopaedic Surgery having gone through the complete training program there. He has worked in University Hospitals in UK such as Bristol, Cardiff and Newcastle which serve as Super-Specialist Centres for Complex Orthopaedic problems alongside some of the most eminent surgeons, world-wide. He has also done additional Advanced Fellowships in Knee surgery (Gloucester- UK), Hip Surgery (Cardiff- UK), and also Deformity and Trauma reconstruction (Bristol- UK). Due to the broad nature of the Orthopaedic training program and his extensive experience he is adept at dealing in other facets of Orthopaedics such as Spinal Surgery, Hand, Foot, and Ankle Surgery in Delhi.
Dr. Bedi’s areas of Super Specialization are Joint Replacement (in Hip/Knees/Shoulder/ Elbow), Arthroscopy/ Sports Medicine Surgery, and Trauma. He has done numerous Joint Replacements including Revision of these joints when these joints have failed for whatever reasons.
Having worked in the biggest unit in the UK doing Taylor Spatial Frames, Dr. Bedi has performed deformity corrections in limbs, besides management of Complex Trauma cases and severe joint disruption fractures.
He has presented many papers at international conferences and published articles in Orthopaedic Journals. He also has an interest in research, teaching, organizing workshops and training sessions. He is an executive member of Delhi Orthopaedic Association, Editor of Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics& Trauma, regularly teaches at the AO courses and is a journal reviewer for Indian Orth Association Journal. He also organizes the DOA resident’s teaching program. Regularly invited for lectures in DOA/ IOACON/ ISKSAA and other national meetings.
Dr. Bedi has attained the qualifications of FRCS and FRCS(Orth) examinations and is on the European Specialist Register which allows him to practice as a Consultant anywhere in Europe.
Prior to going to the UK, he did his post-graduation in Orthopaedics i.e. MS-Orth, & DNB (Orth) at Maulana Azad Medical College and also worked as a Sr. Resident at both LNJP Hospital & St. Stephens Hospital.
Dr. Bedi has been associated with FORTIS Hospital for quite some time and he together with his colleagues have performed almost all common surgical procedures. The Orthopaedic team which he has set up has 8 more eminent Orthopaedic Surgeons. Together the team provides the most comprehensive Orthopaedic service putting together years of experience between themselves. The team together does about 100 spine procedures/ over 400 joint replacements/ about 100 arthroscopies and about 500 trauma procedures in one year.
